Real-Time Soil or Filtration Media Conditions

APPLICATION

Soil-SENSE is a real-time volumetric soil and/or filter media moisture, temperature, and electrical conductivity monitoring kit that can have sensors deployed at up to 3 depths. Soil-SENSE is battery powered with solar recharge, and wirelessly (cellular) connected to a cloud-based data platform with dashboard.  Convenient burial of TEROS 12 sensor finally tells you exactly how much moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity — no probes, no guesswork, no site visits.

1.)  A small form factor NEMA IP67 rated data acquisition computer

2.) A small form factor NEMA IP67 rated battery pack 

3.) An 18W Voltaic solar panel

4.) A Teros T12 sensor

6.) A stainless steel mounting bracket for the rain gauge, battery, computer, and solar panel that includes stainless steel hose clamps for mounting

Options:

1.) Additional Teros T12 sensors (up to 3 - contact P4 for up to 8)

2.) Direct-Bury sensor cabling (length dependent upon site conditions)

3.) A galvanized steel stand-alone pole with driven base and corner bolt for assembly

4.) Optional sensor allowing measurement of frost depth and salinity build up

5.) PVC wiring conduit for stand-alone pole computer mounting configurations.

INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS

Simply select where soil or filter media conditions are sought.  Dig a small diameter (8") hole and mount sensors into native soil.  Backfill with soil or filter media as applicable.  Install the stand-alone pole support.  Run sensor cabling to location of computer.  Plug in sensor, turn on, and data is flowing.
